Using clean lines and traditional glazing, we gave a nod toward the 18th century and covered it in a tight walnut burl with a narrow herringbone band. We specified glass shelves because they take up less visual weight behind the doors and allow for the option of adding lights to the interior. Whether your taste runs toward modern or classic, this breakfront offers myriad display possibilities. Circa 19th century. This dresser gets its name from the open storage racks down below. If you wanted fresh chicken (or even rabbit) for dinner, but didn’t wish to take the long walk out to the coop in the evening, you’d bring in an old hen with the morning eggs and keep her in lower section until it was “her time.” Today, the poultry prison can be repurposed to store bowls and small cookware, and a rotisserie chicken can be bought on the way home from work. 60" x 23.5" x 83.5" VE 4109 Tags: Antique welsh dresser, Ireland, VE 4109
