Circa 1890. ​ Remarkable parquetry inlay work defines this mahogany and kingwood commode. A beautifully mottled marble top, block front, and deeply chamfered front corners are welcome design elements that give this commode a handsome profile. Circa 1720. ​ This is 18th century coffer displays intricate carving on its exterior panels, including two coats of arms on the front panels. It has been outfitted with myriad trays for silver storage. Two drawers with brass lion's head ring pulls at the base provide additional storage. ​ 19th Century Seaman's Chest Victorian. Circa 19th century. ​ 19th century seaman's chest painted in US Naval motif. Retains original rope handles knotted by the sailor who took this chest to sea. These chests contained all the worldly possessions a sailor would take to sea. Not many of these chests still survive. ​ 19th Century Welsh Seaman's Chest United Kingdom. Circa 19th century. ​ 19th century Welsh seaman's chest with original painting of the sailor's ship on the underside of the lid. Retains original rope handles knotted by the sailor who took this chest to sea. These chests contained all the worldly possessions a sailor would take to sea. Not many of these chests still survive. ​ Carved Mule Chest Ireland. Circa 1790. ​ Elm, two-drawer mule chest, probably of Irish origin. Three fielded panels on the front with carved foliate decoration and original steel escutcheon lock plate. The two drawers are pine lined and have original brass, escutcheon plates and locks. ​

With a deep apron and narrow drawers, this straight-legged server was most likely sitting behind a sofa, but could possibly have been a serving table in a cottage. Circa 1850. ​ While this sideboard has an attractive appearance, with its beautifully matched mahogany grain and deeply fluted, turned legs, it is (cliché warning) what's on the inside that counts. Each cellarette drawer features slots for 9 wine bottles. Created sometime in the mid-nineteenth century in classic Regency style, this sideboard also features a center silver drawer with dividers and felt lining. Circa 1690. ​ This two drawer oak chest on stand features the geometric panels common in furniture in Germany, England and the Netherlands during the mid to late 17th century, except here it is taken to a whole new level with the degree of intricacy involved. Add to that the double split balusters across the front and this chest comes out a winner. On a stand of slightly later vintage with baluster supports and bun feet. Circa 1800. ​ The debonair flash of brass knobs on the three drawers of this country oak server was just enough to elevate it to the height of fashion at the turn of the 18th century. With a deeply moulded top and gently curved cabriole legs that end in pad feet, the proportions are exemplary. Combine that with a warm, rich patina and just a hint of mahogany cross banding on the drawer fronts and you have a country gentleman who knows his way around town.
